Piggery

Commercial pig production to economically empower vulnerable communities has been set up. A three sow and bow unit is given to each household for production, porkers are sold periodically. Each production unit contributes weaners to a pool for redistribution to other production units thus increasing the coverage. Technical support in terms of production practices, animal health, housing and feed formulation is provided on a cost recovery basis. The project has set a central breeding and training site for its beneficiaries.
