This week at Frontline

Welcome!

It’s a good working week. I hope we are all ready to expend our energies in improving the
livelihoods of the needy.

      Children’s department

The department is making its final preparations to relocate to Duncan house from McDonald Offices, to Duncan House where the vast of the team moved to in December.

The Children’s Department Coordinator is completing the report on last weeks’ trip to Hlekwini and Mguza Farms. The department visited Hlekwini Institute to view the kind of projects they offer with the hope of incorporating these into the CHH livelihood projects. Their activities include Agriculture, Building, Carpentry, Early Childhood Education, Metalwork and sewing. It is hoped that CHH beneficiaries will be sign posted to these programmes as we workout sustainable IGPs and Vocational Training for them.

On 13 and 14 May 2009 Mrs Tshalibe will be attending a workshop on Gender Based Violence and Women’s Rights at Baptist Church. Some of the workshop topics have a bearing on the Children’s Department as some children were exposed to domestic violence and discrimination at family level.

DAZ

The Disabled Association of Zimbabwe is making preparations for the official launch of the entity on 30 July 2009, in Harare. Anticipated to attend the launch will be Ministers, Ambassadors, International Funders and business people. We hope all goes well for them.

HEALTH

Gloria Sibanda, the Programme Officer on GLAC, is working on a Radio Talk show entitled “Telling it like it is” in which People Living With HIV will be talking about their lives, experiences and other topics in a bid to help people live openly with HIV. This is part of the information dissemination activity championed by Gloria, herself living openly with HIV.

      Prayer requests

. We pray for DAZ’s success as the Association prepares for it’s official launch.

NB Prayers will be conducted at Duncan House every Tuesday starting 0730hours.
