Widows

In partnership with Ostarama Out Grower, a company based in Bulawayo, Family Link rolled out a chicken project for widows and vulnerable women.

FDT sourced 6 weeks old chickens from Ostarama and distributed them to these women, who in turn sold them within 3 days and paid the company through FDT. FDT raised the collecteral for these women who would nothave been able to raise the security deposit on their own.

In one of our distributions in April, we distributed 804 chickens to 28 households, a total profit of USD 1200 was shared by these women.
